Itinerary of the food and wine tour of Georgia

Day 1 ARRIVAL IN TBILISI

Dinner in Tbilisi and overnight in hotel .

Day 2VISIT TO TBILISI & OENOLOGY LESSON

Breakfast at the hotel
You’ll visit the Narikhala fortress, created in the 4th century and considerably enlarged since then by the Umayyads, King David the Builder, and then destroyed by the Mongols. It overlooks Tbilisi and the Mtkvari river, offering panoramic views of Tbilisi.
Lunch in the historic center of Tbilisi in a typical Georgian restaurant. You’ll already be introduced to Georgian gastronomic traditions.

You’ll then stroll through the maze of the old town, a veritable jewel of architecture and layout, with its carved wooden balconies, winding cobbled streets… old Tbilisi is both an Oriental and a medieval European city.
Dinner in Tbilisi.
During this meal, you’ll enjoy an oenology lesson on Georgian wines.

Day 3TBILISI - MTSKHETA - MUKHANI

Breakfast at the hotel.

You’ll visit the medieval town of Mtskheta, with its monastery and thousand-year-old cathedral.

Then you’ll head to the Iagos vineyards for a wine tasting session.

Finally, you’ll reach the famous Château Mukhani and taste its renowned wines made from original grape varieties: Shavkapito, Kindzmatsaraouli, Saperavi, and sometimes Cabernet!

You’ll dine in the Château’s restaurant.

You’ll return to Tbilisi after dinner.

Day 4TBILISI - TELAVI

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure for Telavi, visit to the Qvevri museum, the traditional Georgian way of making wine, followed by lunch in a local restaurant. Afterwards, visit the Tsinandali Estate winery owned by Alexandre Chavhavadze, with wine tasting.

Day 5TELAVI - KVARELI VINEYARD

Breakfast at the hotel

Transfer to the Kvareli vineyards in Kakhetia.
Participation in a Masterclass on Georgian cuisine in Kvareli, visit to the Khareba wine cellar with tasting, and visit to the Heraclius II museum and fortress in Telavi.

Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit the Kindzmarauli winery, renowned for its sweet wines, with a tasting session. Lunch in Sighnaghi, a medieval town at the foot of the Caucasus mountains.
