Visit the Ghelati monastery, long a cultural and intellectual center founded in 1106 by King David IV. You’ll see manuscripts and wall paintings dating from the 11th to 17th centuries, listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site; then visit the Motsameta monastery, smaller than Ghelati, this monastery is situated on a magnificent cliff-top promontory with a breathtaking view of the river and countryside.

Arrival at the troglodyte site of Ouplitsikhe, home to the first populations of the Caucasus before becoming a strategic stop on the Silk Road.
