Itinerary
Sunset over the Sameba Esplanade, Tbilisi

Day 1TBILISSI

Airport transfer and hotel check-in.
Lunch at the hotel, followed by a tour of Tbilisi. Visit Sameba Cathedral and the flea market. Take the funicular up to Mtatsminda and dine in a gourmet restaurant with breathtaking panoramic views over the whole of Tbilisi. Dinner and overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 2TBILISSI

Breakfast at the hotel.
Visit the Narikala Fortress, originally built in the 4th century, later expanded significantly by the Umayyads and King David the Builder, before being destroyed by the Mongols. It overlooks Tbilisi and the Mtkvari river, offering panoramic views of Tbilisi. Lunch in the historic center of Tbilisi. You’ll stroll through the maze of the old town, a veritable jewel of architecture and layout, with its carved wooden balconies, winding cobbled streets… old Tbilisi is both an Oriental city and a medieval European town. Lunch in the old town. Walk on Rustaveli Avenue and visit the Georgian National Museum
Dinner and overnight in Tbilisi

Day 3MTSKHETA - BORJOMI - RABATI

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Tbilisi. Visit Djvari, a 6th-century Georgian Orthodox monastery overlooking 3 arms of the rivers that meet. Then discover the ancient capital of Mtskheta. The spiritual heart of Georgia, a Unesco World Heritage site. Transfer to the troglodyte site of Ouplitsikhe, home to the first populations of the Caucasus before becoming a strategic stop on the Silk Road. Lunch in Uplistsikhe.
Drive to the town of Borjomi and visit the city park.
Transfer to Rabati. Dinner in Rabati and overnight in 3* hotel.

Day 4VARDZIA - RABATI

Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the troglodyte town of Vardzia. In 1185, Queen Tamar ascended the throne of Georgia. To protect against Mongol invasions, the city of Vardzia was carved into the cliffs.
Lunch in Vardzia.
Return transfer to Rabati Castle. You will visit this military structure built in the 13th century. The fortress had been destroyed several times, often during sieges, as a result of which it had absorbed traces of different cultures and religions. In 2012, a major restoration took place, after which the Rabati Fortress in Akhaltsikhe transformed into a city within a city. View of the Caucasus Mountains!
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel inside Rabati Fortress.

Day 5 RABATI - KUTAISI

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Kutaisi.
Lunch in Kutaisi.
Visit the Gelati Monastery, a long-standing cultural and intellectual center founded in 1106 by King David IV. Here, you’ll see manuscripts and murals from the 11th to the 17th centuries, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Next, visit the smaller Motsameta Monastery, perched on a stunning cliff with breathtaking views over the river and countryside.
Take a boat tour through the Prometheus Caves, Georgia’s largest caves (1,600m long) and among the world’s deepest.
Dinner in Kutaisi and overnight at a 3-star hotel.

Day 6KUTAISI - GORI - STEPANTSMINDA

Depart from Kutaisi to take the Georgian Military Road, the only natural passage connecting the South and North Caucasus.
Stop in Gori, Stalin’s birthplace, to visit the Stalin Museum.
Visit a renowned Georgian vineyard for a wine tasting and enjoy lunch at the vineyard.
Stop at the fortified Ananuri ecclesiastical complex, featuring churches and a defensive tower within a fortress overlooking Jinvali Lake.
Pause at the Russian-Georgian Friendship Monument to take in the magnificent landscapes.
Dinner in Stepantsminda and overnight at a 3-star hotel.

Day 7STEPANTSMINDA - TELAVI

Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for Gergeti Church. This church, with Mount Kazbek (5200m) in the background, is one of Georgia’s most famous viewpoints. Take stunning photos and enjoy this unforgettable viewpoint.
Transfer to Telavi, with lunch at a riverside restaurant along the Aragvi River.
Transfer and visit Alaverdi Monastery, a Georgian Orthodox monastery. Explore the Ikalto Academy, founded in the 6th century.
Dinner in Telavi and overnight at a 3-star hotel.

Chavchavadze Museum in Tsinandali, Georgia, featuring traditional Georgian architecture and a garden.

Day 8TELAVI - SIGHNAGHI

Breakfast at the hotel.
Visit the house of Prince Alexandre Chavchavadze, the founder of Georgian Romanticism. He turned the estate in the village of Tsinandali, which he inherited from his father, into the country’s cultural and intellectual center, which it remains to this day. Then on to the fortified church of Grémi, an iconographic symbol of Georgia perched on a citadel at the foot of the Daguestan mountains. After this enriching visit, head to a traditional Georgian vineyard to learn about winemaking in Qvevri.
Lunch at the vineyard.
Transfer to Sighnaghi and visit the Bodbe Monastery, with a view over the Alazani Valley. Then visit Sighnaghi, perched on a 750-metre-high hill, with its immense wall, churches and balconied lanes.
Dinner in Sighnaghi and overnight in a 3-star hotel.

Day 9SIGHNAGHI - DAVID GAREJA

Transfer to Dmanisi and visit the archaeological site where fossils of Homo Georgicus were discovered (the first representatives of the Homo genus outside Africa, dating back 1.8 million years).
Transfer to Bolnisi and lunch in Bolnisi.
Explore two typical churches.
Transfer to Tbilisi, with free time in the city for the rest of the day.
Dinner in Tbilisi and overnight at a 3-star hotel.

Day 10TBILISSI

Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the airport.
