Visit the Narikala Fortress, originally built in the 4th century, later expanded significantly by the Umayyads and King David the Builder, before being destroyed by the Mongols. It overlooks Tbilisi and the Mtkvari river, offering panoramic views of Tbilisi. Lunch in the historic center of Tbilisi. You’ll stroll through the maze of the old town, a veritable jewel of architecture and layout, with its carved wooden balconies, winding cobbled streets… old Tbilisi is both an Oriental city and a medieval European town. Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Tbilisi. Visit Djvari, a 6th-century Georgian Orthodox monastery overlooking 3 arms of the rivers that meet. Then discover the ancient capital of Mtskheta. The spiritual heart of Georgia, a Unesco World Heritage site. Transfer to the troglodyte site of Ouplitsikhe, home to the first populations of the Caucasus before becoming a strategic stop on the Silk Road. Lunch in Uplistsikhe.
Drive to the town of Borjomi and visit the city park.
Transfer to Rabati. Dinner in Rabati and overnight in 3* hotel.

Transfer to the troglodyte town of Vardzia. In 1185, Queen Tamar ascended the throne of Georgia. To protect against Mongol invasions, the city of Vardzia was carved into the cliffs.

Return transfer to Rabati Castle. You will visit this military structure built in the 13th century. The fortress had been destroyed several times, often during sieges, as a result of which it had absorbed traces of different cultures and religions. In 2012, a major restoration took place, after which the Rabati Fortress in Akhaltsikhe transformed into a city within a city. View of the Caucasus Mountains!

Transfer and visit Alaverdi Monastery, a Georgian Orthodox monastery. Explore the Ikalto Academy, founded in the 6th century.

Visit the house of Prince Alexandre Chavchavadze, the founder of Georgian Romanticism. He turned the estate in the village of Tsinandali, which he inherited from his father, into the country’s cultural and intellectual center, which it remains to this day. Then on to the fortified church of Grémi, an iconographic symbol of Georgia perched on a citadel at the foot of the Daguestan mountains. After this enriching visit, head to a traditional Georgian vineyard to learn about winemaking in Qvevri.

Transfer to Sighnaghi and visit the Bodbe Monastery, with a view over the Alazani Valley. Then visit Sighnaghi, perched on a 750-metre-high hill, with its immense wall, churches and balconied lanes.

Transfer to Dmanisi and visit the archaeological site where fossils of Homo Georgicus were discovered (the first representatives of the Homo genus outside Africa, dating back 1.8 million years).
